Jane Marston (Kwatleematt) is from Stz’uminus (Chemainus) First Nation. She is well-known worldwide for her beautiful artwork. She specializes in traditional Coast Salish designs and incorporates them into a variety of mediums, including painting, carving and cedar bark weaving.
Jane’s family is her greatest source of pride and joy. She is mother to 7 and grandmother to 15.
Jane has a Master of Arts degree from the University of Victoria and was a professor in woman’s studies at Vancouver Island University.
Celebrating Coast Salish Culture
Jane specializes in traditional Coast Salish Carving, Painting, and design. Jane’s pieces are highly sought after by collectors and art enthusiasts around the world.
Jane’s art is deeply rooted in her cultural heritage, and she draws inspiration from the natural world around her. Many of her pieces feature traditional and contemporary Coast Salish symbols, such as animals and plants, which hold great significance in her culture.
